Dr. Nosa Akpede is a graduate of Ambrose Alli University, Nigeria and a fellow of West African College of Physicians. She is a consultant public health Physician and the Acting Director, Institute of Lassa fever, Research and Control, Irrua Specialist teaching hospital, Edo state, Nigeria.
She is currently working with national and international research partners on viral hemorrhagic fevers with emphasis on yellow fever. Her other areas of interest are occupational health, nutrition, and social and rehabilitative medicine. She has co-authored some publications from research in public health.
Akpede is the Director of Precious Gems Africa and a member of the board of trustees.
Christine Eziamaka is a lawyer and a Content Distributor with over 5years experience working in the Private and Public sectors in Nigeria as well as with non-governmental organizations.
She currently provides legal advice and representation for Precious Gems Africa and serves as Charity Secretary.
I am a Consultant Public Health Physician, Irrua Specialist hospital (ISTH), Head, Opoji Comprehensive HealthCentre(outreach centre for Dept of community medicine, ISTH. Coordinator, Nigeria Medical Association, Edo Central Zone. An Epidemiologist, Biostatistician and a Researcher.
I am a lead Nurse on Infection Prevention and Control in the Lassa Fever Isolation Ward. Irrua specialist hospital, Edo state Nigeria.
My name is Dr Ekaete Alice Tobin, I am a consultant public health physician with the Institute of Lassa fever research and Control. I am Ibibio by tribe, and my hobbies are gardening and trying my hands out at cooking new meals.
I am a senior medical doctor at the department of community medicine at Irrua Specialist Hospital (ISTH). I am passionate about the health and well-being of women and young people.
I am Adam Abubakar Abatcha, a Nigerian from Dikwa Local Government of Borno State. I have educational background received in both the Arabic and English Languages. Academically, I am specialized in education, Arabic & Islamic Studies, as well as Political Science (with a major in International Relations and Security Studies) During my secondary school and beyond, I had actively participated in students’ union leadership where I was once PRO (1993) at Borno State College of Legal & Islamic Studies, Chairman (1998), Financial Secretary (1999 - 2000) and Secretary (1999 – 2000) of National Union of Borno State Students and Kanem Students Association at University of Maiduguri respectively. I was the founder of Borno Image Promoters Forum (a charity organization) in 2002, Pioneering Director-General of Kanem-Borno Historical & Cultural Foundation (2006 - 2007, Founder/Director-General of Yerwa School of International Relations, Peace, Conflict Resolution & Security Studies (2018), Founder/Director-General of El-Kanemi Institute of Youth Leadership & Capacity Development (2021), Founder/Pioneering Chairman of El-Kanemi College of Islamic Theology Old Students’ Foundation (2020), National Secretary of Buhari Youth Organisation (2019 – present) and other social Media Forums (Facebook and WhatsApp handles: Yerwa Circle (2010), 2019: Borno Is Our Focus as well as Scholarship & Jobs Circle). I am a Research Assistant at the Centre For Trans-Saharan Studies, University of Maiduguri (2004 to present). I like reading, writing, traveling, idea sharing, and inspiring the youth.
Professor George O. Akpede is Consultant Pediatrician (Neurology & Infectious Diseases) and Professor of Paediatrics.
He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians, Fellow of the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and has served as a resource person in several scientific seminars, workshops, and public lectures. He is a member of the West African College of Physicians’ Expert Committee on Viral Haemorrhagic Fevers, Member, National Lassa fever Rapid Response Committee and Chairman, National Lassa fever Stakeholders’ Forum of Nigeria.
His interests include the diagnosis and management of acute CNS infections, with particular reference to acute bacterial meningitis, acute undifferentiated fevers, diarrhoeal diseases, and viral haemorrhagic fevers, with particular reference to Lassa fever. He has authored and co-authored a modest number of publications from research in these and areas of paediatrics and child health.
Dr. Wilson Abhuluime Ovienria holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree with Honours in Optometry from the University of Benin as well as a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the same University.
He is a member of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS), Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and member of the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO).
He is also a Fellow of the Vitreoretinal Subspecialty (FVRS) from Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh and holds a Developing Country Eye Researcher Fellowship of the Association of Researcher in Vision and Ophthalmology (FARVO).
He holds several National, Regional and International Certificates in short courses in various Subspecialties in Ophthalmology which includes Ophthalmic Microsurgery, Vitreoretinal Surgery, Ocular Oncology, and Oculoplastic Surgery.
He has presented papers in several National, Regional and International Conferences and is a resource person in various Update Courses of both the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and The West African College of Surgeons.
He is also a member of various professional bodies locally, and internationally.
