- The involvement of 100 students with 60% being girls, 4 staffs and the sector agronomist;
- Multiple Precious Gems and We Do GREEN strategic outcomes including but not limited to gender inclusion in climate change and environment and women empowerment.
Takeaways, challenges and opportunities:
Students showed very great excitement about the activity and almost everyone was asking when once again such sustainability initiative could happen at their school. However , the gap between youth energy and access to power is still a challenge that limits more impactful initiatives to happen, If more youth-led initiatives can be supported , there is no doubt that they could make tremendous impacts. We also realized that there is a need to provide some fresh drink and snack to students as a motivation after the activity.
Together with our partners we have started designing a relevant curricula and will incorporate various topics, useful tool and information about the program and will carry out periodic performance evaluation of the club, trees up on which can ensure that each tree assigned to each club member thrives and grows well and that students improve their understanding on climate change, environment protection, sustainable life style, gender equity, and role of STEM education towards green entrepreneurship.
