We are grateful to our Precious Gems Nigeria team of volunteer, for their efforts in helping to raise awareness of Covid 19 in the Esan region of Edo State Nigeria. Precious Gems engaged the services of local tailors to manufacture reusable facemask that was distributed to thousands of people. We also engaged local craftsmen to help construct Veronica buckets due to lack of running water, so they can be used to demonstrate safe hand washing to members of the public and these buckets were also installed in strategic places in the community so they can be utilised by members of the public. So far Phase one of this campaign we have visited key stake holders of the community like the various kings in their palaces, the security agencies, faith groups, markets, commercial transporters. Participants were thought safe hand washing and how to spot symptoms of the disease and where to refer themselves to or their loved ones for further medical attention.
