Tony Shepherd was born, raised and has lived most of his life in Bolton, United Kingdom. He was educated at Brandwood Street Primary School and later at Canon Slade School. He is currently retired, after a 35-year career in the Finance Department at Bolton Council.
He is the Chair of Trustees at Precious Gems UK and also the Chair and Treasurer for a local charity, Bolton Community Development Partnership (Bolton CDP) which is focused at improving the wellbeing of residents.
He is the Chair of Governors at Castle Hill Primary School and was a vital part of improving the school’s OFSTED ratings. He also recently became a Governor at Hardy Mill Primary School.
He is a member of the Ambition for Ageing Advisory Board which helps people over the age of 50 in 3 Bolton wards – namely Tonge, Halliwell, and Crompton.
An active member of the Harwood & Bradshaw Community Action Group, Shepherd lends his support in tackling local issues such as littering, dog fouling, and anti-social behaviour.
Most of his working life and since retirement has been about helping others and he looks forward to many more years of working within his community.
Susan C Riley has 36 years in the care profession working in several roles, supporting children, young adults and the elderly with learning disabilities, physical, and mental health needs.
Riley is a member, board of Trustees of Precious Gems UK and passionately provides stimulating activities for the elderly living with dementia.
Oboh Achioyamen has a strong passion for community development and public health. He is Skilled in Intercultural Communication, Strategic Partnerships, Public Speaking, Organizational Leadership, and possesses great Interpersonal Skills. His passion has led to the initiation of several charitable organisations aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of members of the society.
He is a member of the Urban Health Section steering committee of the European Public Health Association. EUPHA.
Achioyamen is also the Chairman for Precious Gems Africa.
Domina Nirere is an inspirational lady, passionate about the wellbeing of women and young people. She has dedicated most of her time to make sure that people who are disadvantaged in society are given a fair opportunity to make a difference in their lives especially women and young people. She is an exceptional community leader and has been able to work with and support women and young people across a wide range of nationalities in Bolton and Greater Manchester. She is a trained business analyst and a graduate of Business Management from the University of Bolton.
She was awarded as one of the most outstanding women leaders in Bolton at the Inspirational Women's Awards in 2017. Her ambition is to give meaning to the lives of people that she comes across.
