    Dr. Nosa Akpede is a graduate of Ambrose Alli University, Nigeria and a fellow of West African College of Physicians. She is a consultant public health Physician and the Acting Director, Institute of Lassa fever, Research and Control, Irrua Specialist teaching hospital, Edo state, Nigeria.

    She is currently working with national and international research partners on viral hemorrhagic fevers with emphasis on yellow fever. Her other areas of interest are occupational health, nutrition, and social and rehabilitative medicine. She has co-authored some publications from research in public health. 

    Akpede is the Director of Precious Gems Africa and a member of the board of trustees.

    Professor George O. Akpede is Consultant Pediatrician (Neurology & Infectious Diseases) and Professor of Paediatrics.

    He is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians, Fellow of the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and has served as a resource person in several scientific seminars, workshops, and public lectures. He is a member of the West African College of Physicians’ Expert Committee on Viral Haemorrhagic Fevers, Member, National Lassa fever Rapid Response Committee and Chairman, National Lassa fever Stakeholders’ Forum of Nigeria.

    His interests include the diagnosis and management of acute CNS infections, with particular reference to acute bacterial meningitis, acute undifferentiated fevers, diarrhoeal diseases, and viral haemorrhagic fevers, with particular reference to Lassa fever. He has authored and co-authored a modest number of publications from research in these and areas of paediatrics and child health.

    Dr. Wilson Abhuluime Ovienria holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree with Honours in Optometry from the University of Benin as well as a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the same University.

    He is a member of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS), Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and member of the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO).

    He is also a Fellow of the Vitreoretinal Subspecialty (FVRS) from Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh and holds a Developing Country Eye Researcher Fellowship of the Association of Researcher in Vision and Ophthalmology (FARVO).

    He holds several National, Regional and International Certificates in short courses in various Subspecialties in Ophthalmology which includes Ophthalmic Microsurgery, Vitreoretinal Surgery, Ocular Oncology, and Oculoplastic Surgery.

    He has presented papers in several National, Regional and International Conferences and is a resource person in various Update Courses of both the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and The West African College of Surgeons.

    He is also a member of various professional bodies locally, and internationally.
